Bella's Blessings is an organization committed to supporting pet owners in need by providing access to pet food and essential supplies through honor-based pantries. Our mission is to foster compassion and community and help families keep their beloved pets during challenging times. We believe that pets are family, and no family should have to part with their pets due to financial difficulties or hardships.

ABOUT US

The Challenge

According to a 2024 poll by the Humane World for Animals, approximately 20 million pets in the U.S. live in poverty alongside their families. In addition, 43% of all pet owners report having been unable to pay for their pets’ needs at some point due to financial hardship.

Unable to afford care, many pet owners face heartbreaking decisions. In the first half of 2025 alone, an estimated 2.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues across the country—many surrendered simply because their families couldn’t keep up with costs.

These realities reveal a clear, under-addressed need for accessible pet care and supply resources.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Bella's Blessings does not believe anyone should have to surrender an adored pet due to lack of resources. Bella’s Blessings aims to fill part of the existing resource gap by focusing on accessible distribution of pet food and supplies to families through “Little Free Pet Pantries” or “Pet Blessing Boxes,” so that we can help pets and the families who love them stay together.

Our Pet Blessing Boxes for Communities

Every Bella’s Blessings Box is designed to be both durable and welcoming. Constructed from weatherproof PVC, each box measures 23” tall x 27” wide and weighs about 38 pounds, with capacity for up to 25 pounds of dry food, plus treats, bowls, and toys. The box is primed but unpainted, as we deliberately leave it ready for each community to paint with it's unique touch!

Each box includes:

A “Bella’s Blessings” sign featuring a QR code that links to our online directory of free and low-cost veterinary clinics, pet food banks, and assistance programs.
A solar light for safe, easy access from dusk to dawn.
A 4”x4” pressure-treated post, installed securely at a height of 36.”

Because many users may have limited access to veterinary care, we strive to ensure each Pet Blessing Box is stocked with safe, hygienic, and reliable support items.
